Student tour: Utrecht

A number of ethusiastic students from the Honours Programme at the University of Utrecht dropped by our institute. I was happy to give a short overview of the scientific work we do within the Vision & Cognition group. Emphasizing that Neurotechnology isn’t super scary, even if you don’t quite trust Elon Musk and his recent (although arguably not very novel) developments, implanting humans with brain-chips.

I described how we’re developping a visual neural prosthesis within our group to potentially provide blind people with a form of vision. And simultaneously how we aim to get a better understanding of how the brain constructs our visual world.

The guest lectures from postdocs were followed by a tour through other labs at the NIN and of course… drinks! Simultaneously celebrating the start of the year of the dragon.
